Michelle has lived in the Monterey Bay area since 1977. She graduated with a B.A. in Psychology from the University of California at Santa Cruz in 1982 and with a Juris Doctorate cum laude from Santa Clara University School of Law in 1987. She has been practicing law in Salinas since 1987. Michelle and her husband own a certified organic farm where they grow exotic cut flowers. (click for farm website) Prior to this business, they were part owners of Quail Mountain Herbs, a grower, packer, and shipper of fresh herbs and specialty produce. Michelle has two adult children who keep involved in the farm as well. Michelle currently serves as an officer and director of Hide 'n Seek Children's Foundation and is the Past President of the Aromas Eagles Aerie. She has served on the boards or cabinets of Children's Circle of Friends, Business Education Student Transitions of the Salinas Valley (now Monterey County Business Education Research Institute, Inc.), Peacock Acres, Inc., Steinbeck Credit Union, Prunedale Chamber of Commerce, Salinas Jaycees, Salinas Valley Business Woman's Network, Meals on Wheels of the Salinas Valley, and Children's Services International. She also is an advisor of many other non-profit boards.
